SAVANNAH – Robert Adam Bob Blum passed away at his home Saturday, January 4, 2014.
Born September 7, 1927 in Midland Park, NJ, he was the son of Gustave and Florence Bennett Blum. Bob spent most of his young life in Ridgewood, NJ before embarking on his professional career. In 1947 he accepted a position at Walden Publishing, NYC, then headed their Chicago Field Office. In 1964 he joined Advance Transformer, a division of Philips Electronic, where he was Regional Vice President of Sales until his retirement in 1989 when he moved to Savannah and The Landings.
Bob is predeceased by the mother of his five sons, Doris McLean Blum, his parents, brother Roy, and grandson, Jacob.
Surviving Bob are his wife, Ann Elwert Blum, sons, Richard Kerry, Robert Helene, William, Randolph Debbie, and Jeffrey; Ann's children, Mark Leslie, Lisa, and Gary Lorye; sixteen grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
He was a kind, warm gentleman who enjoyed his family and friends thoroughly. He had a passion for Alaskan fishing, golf, the stock market, and Notre Dame football.
Sincere appreciation is given to the staff of Hospice Savannah for the care afforded to him this past year.
A Memorial Service will be conducted by Rev. Jim Giddens at 11:00 a.m., Saturday morning, February 8, 2014, at Skidaway Island United Methodist Church.
